Citizens' Statute

The Citizens’ Statute is a general agreement on duties and responsibilities between Pradeshiya Sabha and citizens.

In accordance with the provisions of the Regional Council Act No. 15 of 1987, for the people to participate effectively at the provincial level in the decision-making process related to administrative and development activities. We are committed to control and administer the regularization of all matters such as public health public utility services and public roads while protecting the comfort and well-being of the people in our area.

For us you,

  • Correctly complete the application form related to the services and provide the necessary documents.
  • To participate in meetings and discussions called by the Pradeshiya Sabha for the public requirements of the Sabha area
  • Regularly payment of taxes and fees due to the Pradeshiya Sabha
  • Avoiding irregular waste disposal
  • If any construction is done, inform the Pradeshiya Sabha about it and get the relevant approval.
  • Providing support for the protection and maintenance of public properties such as public roads, community halls, street lights, cemeteries, playgrounds, children’s parks etc. in our area.
  • Giving your contribution in carrying out the community contribution development works carried out by the Pradeshiya Sabha.
  • Sparing use of water resources.
  • Safeguard the equipment and machinery of the Pradeshiya Sabha taken on rent and return the machinery and equipment as soon as possible after fulfilling the requirement.
