Policy Statement

Passara Pradeshiya Sabha is established for the 41 Grama Niladhari Divisions of the Passara Divisional Secretariat Division. Maintaining Public health service, Public Utilities services, regularizing all activities on Divisional roads, Public Protection, welfare development and administrating, Preserving the beauty of the area are the main tasks assigned to Pradeshiya Sabha.
Therefore, the purpose of the Pradeshiya Sabha is to implement the above functions legally and more effectively.

1. Implementing the provisions of the written laws assigned by the Pradeshiya Sabha Act
2. Implementing the provisions of the Pradeshiya Sabha under other written laws
3. Prevention of infectious diseases and epidemics
4. Improving and protecting health education, maternal and child health
5. Regulating and controlling risky and unpleasant business ventures
6. Checking the condition of goods(Meals, Beverages, etc.) for sale in business premises
7. Construction and maintenance of Divisional Road’s drains, pavements, culverts, moats etc.
8. Regulation and control of buildings and permanent construction
9. Establishing and maintaining public markets
10. Street lighting and city beautification
11. Maintaining cemeteries and crematoriums
12. Maintaining parks and outdoor areas
13. Maintaining library services
14. Maintaining Early Childhood Development Centers
15. Creating and maintaining play grounds
16. Imposition of by-laws required for various functions
17. Protecting and maintaining environmental cleanliness
18. Maintaining water supply services to provide clean drinking water to all
19. Providing necessary activities for the public welfare within the limits allowed by the Pradeshiya Sabha Act
20. Providing necessary assistance to the Central Government in national development by the Pradeshiya Sabha
21.  The aim is to give the people of the area the maximum possible return on their taxes, and so on.
